About Us » Pastor's Blog
As we look forward as a church we have seen the need to move up a level in our relationship to God our Heavenly Father, in our relationship with Jesus the reason we believe and in the Holy Spirit who gives us power to glorify Jesus.
My long term vision for the church is that we will work from church premises that are available all week. Church premises that will offer a place for the church and the community to meet. Over a cup of coffee, to chat, encourage, support, and to build bridges and not walls. I see the time when the church will be the focal point for the community. The first stop in times of worry and fear. A place where people in time of need can come and find help. The church giving a voice to the disadvantaged.
There is a lot more, but I don’t want to scare you.

Welcome to the blog of Pastor Peter Balls.
I thought I would start this blog with a brief history of Chelmsford Community Church.
The church started in 1976 from a small fellowship of mainly Anglicans. They met together midweek.
The church met in numerous places across town including, Moulsham School, Great Baddow School, Chelmsford Theatre Group building opposite the prison, Moulsham Clinic, Essex Cricket Ground, Air Training Corps building, Hylands School and Westlands School. CCC even spent a time travelling to North London Community Church in Walthamstow.
I am quoting from an article written by a then leader, dated June 1993. 'We started with a rather inflated view of ourselves as a church and our stature in the town. We had little time for other churches or events, only being interested in ourselves and 'Dales' type ministry in song, teaching and so on. We were of course the 'cutting edge' of God's work in Chelmsford. All nine of us.'
We realise that God has now changed that image to how we see ourselves today. We have a real heart for unity within the churches and a real passion for the local community. We see ouselves as just a part of what God is doing in Chelmsford and we want to do the 'part' that God has called us to do with all the energy that we can offer.
